Honoring life, memories, and stories that inspire us all.
Nicholas Aiden "Nick" Hofferber, aged 22, passed away on April 4, 2025, in Temple, Texas. Born on October 30, 2002, in Waco, Texas, Nicholas brought light and energy into the lives of everyone he met.
From a young age, Nicholas showed a nurturing spirit, often choosing to help care for younger children at daycare rather than playing with peers his own age. He shared a special bond with his older and younger brothers, cherishing their time together.
Nicholas began his education in Gatesville, later attending Midway in Waco, and ultimately graduated from Penn Foster in May 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. His resilience and determination were evident early on, and his strong work ethic shone through in his first job at Home Depot, where he received numerous accolades for his dedication and positive attitude. He continued to demonstrate his commitment to excellence in various roles, most recently at Concho Parts Supply in Temple.
Nick had a passion for adventure and exploration, enjoying family cruises to various islands and snowboarding trips to Colorado. His love for cars was matched by his affection for animals, particularly dogs, with his beloved Bella bringing him great joy. He often visited parks, trails, and the humane society, where he spent time with other dogs.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Tom and Carlianne Hofferber of Waco, Texas; his brothers, Justin Hofferber of California and Zachary Hofferber of Waco, Texas; grandparents Dwight and Sue of Lake Limestone, Texas, Bob and Wendy of San Antonio, Texas, Bill Hofferber of Kearney, Nebraska, and Charlie Young of Lawton, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends who were touched by his generous spirit.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Joyce Wade and Fran Hofferber, and his uncle, Michael Vaneman.
A memorial gathering to honor Nick’s life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Grace Garden Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Woodway, Texas 76712. The service will also be streamed live on their website for those unable to attend in person.
I am dedicated to preserving the legacy of Nicholas Aiden Hofferber. Through storytelling and shared memories, I aim to keep his spirit alive in our hearts and minds. Even though we know he is resting peacefully in Jehovah’s book of remembrance for the day of resurrection We will see him again soon.
If I can help save one other family the pain we are going through I would tell you that speeding kills. Seatbelts can save lives. Do what you can to protect yourself and to protect others because a life can be lost at any moment. Even though we had these talks with our son he didn’t always listen to the advice we gave him. We love him now and forever but only time will heal the many broken hearts his loss of life affected.
